Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown; Imperial Brown Ale brewed with Sumatra Coffee
Founders Brewing makes some of my favorite beers. This time they've taken an imperial brown ale...I've never  had an imperial brown ale before...put it together with some rich, Sumatra of my favorite coffee types, and yes I grind my own beans...and made possibly one of the best coffee beers available! Yes, another coffee/beer combo, but one that combines the very best of both its create a rich, bold not bitter, velvety smooth brew...hints of caramel and chocolate enhance the coffe and malts......this is a "must try" for anyone who likes  coffee/espresso beers.

Anderson Valley G&T Gose:
First off, that word is pronounced "go-sah". It does not rhymn with rose or nose like I thought it should.   This is named for the classic summer cocktail, the gin and tonic... it does bring  the good ole G& T to mind .  it is more tart than sour, taste of botanicals, and is very refreshing.  G&T Gose is going to be very good to drink, icy cold....mark this one down on the calendar, I don't often recommend drinking beer cold, let alone "icy cold"...on a hot summers afternoon.   For those of you who have wanted to try  goses or other sour beers, this one would be the perfect place to start...I don't really care for  sour beers, and I may never recommend another one ,but this is the exception, clean and refreshing..good beer!  Give it a try, you will thank me!

Ocean City Brewings Alrighty Then, Watermelon Wheat Ale
Amber from Ocean City Brewing gave me a bottle of this early in the fall...she was in the store, we were talking about the beers, and I happened to mention that I had never tried a watermelon beer  i like...she went out to her car and brought back a bottle of Alrighty Then, handed it to me, and said "Just try this".  later that night, I did try it..but we had towait until now to get it in the store.  This beer totally changed my mind. you can taste...really taste, the watermelon, while still tasting the beer. OC has manged to perfectly blend a watermelon wheat ale , so it taste just as good as it smells, and it smells like summer! all we need is a hot summer day and some fresh fried chicken. if you like fruited wheat beers...and even if you don't...give this one a try. it's here for spring and summer...just like watermelon.

..and that's the buzz for now!
