Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling specializes in Bourbon Barrel aged beers, and they do a very good job of it. That being said, I was just a  "little" skeptical about a blackberry porter, but one of our loyal customers assured me that this was a great beer, and "you really should try it", so,  if to prove nothing else then that I do listen to  our customers, I  bought a single bottle...I did mention "skeptical". This is not a  fru-fru  beer, it will never be confused with a lambic, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. The blackberries are there, but they do not overwhelm the  roasted malt, they are more tart than sweet, allowing the  residual bourbon from the barrel aging to lend the "sweetness'. This is also not a "bourbon bomb". which may make it the perfect introduction to  bourbon barrel aged beers. The  blackberries and bourbon compliment each other in this porter to near even keel perfection before a long and savory finish.Blackberries, roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon and vanilla flavors , 8.3% abv....should have bought the 4 pack, now i have to go get the other 3....

Do you know what the state fruit of Kentucky is?......Blackberries
