WINE
Another big-point award winner from Portugal-Colossal 2015 Red Blend
With an intense ruby color, this wine presents itself with a great concentration in the nose. Extremely rich aroma with a predominance of red ripe fruits and some floral notes, well integrated with spices coming from the aging in French and American oak barrels. In the mouth it shows great complexity with notes of plums and blackberries. The finish is rich and elegant. This will become one of your faves for sure. The price is only $9.99 and is a great buy in my opinion. You should all stock up on this one! I will have Sharon open it from 2-7pm. I'm still in Austria but I have asked Barry to stop in and open a few other award winning wines for you as well. Please stop by and drink up all of his samples for me!I will be back next week with lovely wines from Austria!
RECIPE20 Minute Honey Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • optional: 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled & deveined1
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • optional: chopped green onion for garnish
Directions:
  1. Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger (if using) together in a medium bowl.
  2. Place shrimp in a large zipped-top bag or tupperware. Pour 1/2 of the marinade mixture on top, give it all a shake or stir, then allow shrimp to marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or for up to 8-12 hours. Cover and refrigerate the rest of the marinade for step 3. (Time-saving tip: while the shrimp is marinating, I steamed broccoli and microwaved some quick brown rice.)
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place shrimp in the skillet. (Discard used marinade2.) Cook shrimp on one side until pink-- about 45 seconds-- then flip shrimp over. Pour in remaining marinade and cook it all until shrimp is cooked through, about 1 minute more.
  4. Serve shrimp with cooked marinade sauce and a garnish of green onion. The sauce is excellent on brown rice and steamed veggies on the side.
BEERMoylan's is now available here so we thought we'd open a few to let you try them.
Danny's Irish Style Red-This strong Moylan's brew is what keeps those Irish eyes a smiling. Its deep amber radiance has been described by the brewer as the most visually enticing beer. This ale's rich malty flavor, full body, invigorating aroma, and expansive finish empower it to be extremely satisfying and repeatedly enjoyed. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are allied to provide the 1.070 beginning specific gravity, while Fuggle and Liberty hops balance this sweetness. A classic rich and malty ale from Ireland. Unlike most "want-to-be" red ales, Moylan's red has a rich caramel character balanced with a low hop profile.
"Kilt-Lifter" Scotch Ale-Robust and strapping, the Scotch Ale takes BIG Beers to a whole new level. Rich malt balances perfectly with delicate hops to provide a concentrated and intense flavor; an ideal companion for hearty foods, or as a meal unto itself. Allow this ale to warm slightly in your glass to enhance its truly bold character. Sharing is encouraged, as this is one beer that lives up to its name! Hey! No peeking! Slainté!
Stop in and try them both on Friday.

I can't thank you enough for your support, be safe,Beth
