WINE

I have a few great summer wines and summer cocktails for you to try this Friday-

Frisk "Prickly" Riesling is refreshingly acidic with a fruity core and tiny little bubbles making it "prickly"-definitely not a sugary sweet Riesling,this one has some sass! Grown in the "Alps" of Australia where four rivers create mineral-rich valleys among the mountains. With conditions so similar to Northern Italy, the Italian immigrants saw an opportunity to make great wine and sent back to their homeland for root-stock.The grapes grown in this region have a lot of character and style. Sale-priced at only $8.99 .
Justin Sauvignon Blanc is another crisp,acidic white wine for summer drinking-nice minerality complements an abundance of citrus and tropical fruits with a bracing backbone of acidity and a nice, long finish. All for a sale price of only $14.99.

We will have a few other wines open as well and some summer cocktail ideas- a wonderful sangria, an Aperol Spritz and a new gin drink made with ginger and lime-yummy!!

RECIPE
Cornmeal Cakes with Smoked Chicken and Coleslaw
Ingredients
1 (6-oz.) package  cornbread mix
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup fresh corn kernels (2 ears)
1 pt. prepared coleslaw
1 pound chopped smoked chicken
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
2 avocados, sliced
How to Make It
1.Stir together first 3 ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Stir in corn kernels. Drop mixture by 1/4 cupfuls for each cornmeal cake onto a hot, lightly greased griddle or large nonstick skillet. Cook over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until golden.
2.Divide coleslaw among cornmeal cakes; layer with chicken, barbecue sauce, and avocado slices.

Brassiere de Silly Sour
Wallonia, Belgium is known as the birthplace of the Saison.
In the tiny town of Silly, Brasserie de Silly helped build that reputation
with their dark Saison recipe that dates back to the mid 19th century.
Silly Sour is a unique brew in that its the first of its kind from
Wallonia to use a predominant amount of soured ale.
In fact, this beer is 87% soured ale blended with 13% fresh saison.
The delicate malt notes manage to break through the striking
green apple sourness upfront and then give way to a finishing
jolt of lactic sourness!
At an approachable 5.5% ABV this chestnut colored brew
adds a new page to the history of Saison brewing.As our "beer of the week" it will be on sale all week and open on Friday Stop in and sip a little.
