WINE


I am starting to use my grill more and more these days and find myself gravitating outside to the deck or the picnic table as I'm sure you are as well.

Grilling meat calls for a great red wine as far as I'm concerned and I have one of my favorites open this Friday- Chateau Vartely Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything you want in a Cabernet-Body,Fruit,Tannins and Acidity, all in perfect balance with a nice long finish. The price continues to surprise me-Only $11.99 for this beauty that will have your steaks and burgers tasting great!


When I'm on the porch, I want a nice,cool glass of Rose and I often have the Chateau Vartely Rose- It is light,fruity,acidic and so refreshing chilled to perfection on a hot day! Only $7.99-truly a "hot buy"!


I know that some of you don't drink Rose-I still don't understand why, but I respect that, so another choice for cool sipping on a hot,hot day is Cricova Chardonnay-bright with just a little oak, enough to give it a little hint of butter, complementing the tropical fruit flavors and finishing with honey and almonds-Yummy! Only $9.99. Another "hot buy".


For those of you needing bubbly for Mimosas-look no further, we have you covered with the Cricova Brut Sparkling -It's perfect for wine spritzers, Mimosas, sangrias and just for driking ice cold on it's own. Priced at only $11.99.


All of these great Moldovan wines will be open from 2-7 Friday, I hope you can make it buy for a sip!



WHISKEY

I have a Sagamore tasting scheduled for this Friday from 4-7pmand we will open three different Whiskies-

Sagamore Spirit Rye, Vintner's Finish Rye and the Cask Strength Straight Rye. Mmmmmm, Yummy!! Don't miss it!


RECIPE

Sausage and Pepper Foil Wraps


Ingredients

8 Italian sausage links

4 bell peppers, thinly sliced

2 large onions, thinly sliced

1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil, divided

kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish


Directions

  1. Heat grill to high. Cut 4 sheets of foil about 12" long.
  2. Grill sausages until charred, 3 minutes per side, then divide among foil. Top with peppers and onions and drizzle each with 1 tablespoon olive oil, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Fold foil packets crosswise over the sausage and peppers mixture to completely cover the food. Roll top and bottom edges to seal closed.
  4. Grill until peppers and onions are tender and sausage is cooked, 13 to 15 minutes.
  5. Garnish with parsley and serve.
