Seaside Cellars Vinho Verde

Who doesn't like a crisp, cold Vinho Verde on a hot summer day!

I know I do. This one is refreshing, light and fruity. It has tons of lemony and green apple fruit flavors and a crisp acidity that makes it a nice sipper and a great white to serve with seafood. It's a great price too- only $7.99-Wow!

We will open the Colossol Red Blend as well- a 90 point red for only $9.99- this one is great. Big and rich, it has shot to the top of my best sellers list!

Both of these wines are super great values, good for entertaining and everyday dinner wines.

Actually, we will have several wines open for tasting Friday between 2-7pm, all of them hand-picked by me for their superior value! I hope you can stop in.

Orange-Sage Pork Chops

4 (5 oz) 1/2-inch thick boneless pork chops

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

3 Tbsp Butter

1 1/4 tsp cornstarch

1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth

1 tsp orange zest

1/4 cup fresh orange juice

1 1/2 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp honey

1 clove garlic , minced

2 tsp chopped fresh sage leaves (fresh rosemary would be a good substitute)

Season pork chops with 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper and 1/4 tsp salt. Melt 2 Tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and cook, turning once until cooked through, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate, cover with foil and let rest at least 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, whisk together 1 Tbsp broth with cornstarch. Mix in remaining 3 Tbsp broth, orange juice, lemon juice and honey. After removing pork chops from skillet, reduce skillet temperature to medium. Melt remaining butter in a same skillet. Add garlic and saute 20 seconds or until lightly golden. Whisk orange juice mixture once more then pour into skillet while scraping bottom to loosen browned bits. Bring mixture to a boil whisking constantly, then reduce heat slightly and allow to simmer, stirring frequently, about 1 minute. Stir in orange zest and sage. Return pork chops to skillet and spoon sauce over chops. Serve warm.

Narragansett Del's Shandy

Narragansett’s Famous Lager has been brewed & beloved throughout New England for over 120 years. The first Del’s stand opened in RI in 1948 using an old family recipe brought over from Italy. Since then, both ‘Gansett and Del’s Lemonade have refreshed thousands of happy customers on and around the Rhode Island beaches…and beyond. Now the two flavors are combined to create a most refreshing summertime adult beverage. I think it is the best shandy on the market! We will have this thirst-quencher open on Friday so stop in for a sip.

Thanks, I appreciate you, be safe and have fun this weekend!
